For ENZO Los Angeles 2026, Wschód is pleased to exhibit new works by a Los Angeles-based artist Radek Szlaga (b. 1979, Gliwice, PL).
ENZO Los Angeles
February 25 – 28, 2026
1634 W Temple St. Los Angeles
ENZO is a new boutique art fair launching this February, coinciding with Frieze Los Angeles and Felix Art Fair.
Taking place in Echo Park, ENZO presents nine galleries from New York’s Chinatown and Lower East Side, bringing this dynamic gallery scene into dialogue with Los Angeles’s distinct cultural landscape. Free for all participating galleries and visitors, ENZO is built on a model of equity and access. The fair aims to support emerging spaces entering new markets, while energizing Los Angeles’s evolving fair ecosystem and fostering meaningful exchange between some of the most forward-looking creative communities on both coasts.

Beneath its seemingly naïve and nonchalant surface, Szlaga’s work unveils
a world charged with compelling contradictions—where the serious and the
playful continuously intertwine. The artist describes his practice as an effort to
“clash the forces” of gravity and levity, a dynamic tension that animates both his
subject matter and his chosen materials.
Through sublime, almost Rothkoesque, multi-layered paintings; monumental,
tectonic textile installations; and intimate booklets that weave together raw
portraits of post-communist Eastern European social life, Szlaga constructs a
dialogue between memory and immediacy. His practice further extends into a
sharp critique of contemporary existence in the post-capitalist West—particularly
Los Angeles, where he currently resides.
Balancing contemplation and observation, Szlaga moves fluidly between
painterly precision and intuitive expression, cultivating a deeply personal visual
universe that reflects both the fragility and resilience of modern life.
