Wschód is a contemporary art gallery founded in Warsaw. It runs experimental pop up spaces, residencies and curatorial projects globally. The name translates to sunrise and geographical east. It refers to new beginning.
In 2018, Wschód initiated a gallery exchange program Friend of a Friend. In 2022 the gallery conceived a time-shared exhibition space ECHO in Cologne. Starting from fall of 2023, Wschód has expanded to New York with a curated program of exhibitions and video / film projects. From 2025, after three years, ECHO closed its doors in Cologne and was transformed into curatorial platform for producing exhibitions and projects in all possible formats.
