Announcing representation

Galeria Wschód is pleased to announce representation of Antonia Brown (b. 1989, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa).

Antonia Brown’s practice develops through sculpture, writing and film. In her immersive material technique, she reformulates and renegotiates the means of affective reproduction. Brown’s works embody a tension with familial and collective histories tying into feminist critique of gender, voice, and presence. Her practice subverts and problematises violent logic of the pastoral through the insertion of inconsistencies and misinterpretations, which she takes on as form of refusal.

Artist’s first solo exhibition with the gallery opens in early July 2026.
